Slow Down Before You Breakdown

 

I saw this post on Instagram today and I thought it was perfect. I am currently helping a friend with her website for her business, finally trying to actively blog, writing and researching a book, working on a side business (pricing, name, social media for it), while subbing and looking for a teaching job. On top of that I am finally in a place where I actually want to see people and spend time with others because my mind is clearer than before but not exactly 100% (but let’s face it, no one has it completely together). I  am trying to keep track of my finances, looking for what gym to finally join, trying to make sure to check in on those who check on me and just praying I am keeping my head above water.

So I feel it is sufficient to say that there are days in almost every week where I feel a bit overwhelmed. This is not because I am unhappy with what I am doing, as that can be draining, but because there is just a lot on my plate. The crazy part is I wouldn’t change it for a thing. There is something rewarding about being a part of someone else getting their dream off the ground and it is a learning experience. I am starting to see the fruits of my labor. I see God opening doors for me because I was willing to walk in  faith a few months ago. I feel like I am growing as a person and as a woman. Plus I feel this is all a very small training for life in the future. I already know that I will be successful (speak it into existence honey) and with that being said busy is just a way of life. But how do I keep myself from falling apart? I find ways to decompress. I may go to a near by Starbucks with a book and take a hour break from my house, take time to play a useless game that allows my brain to rest, get in a quiet corner and just talk to God about what’s going on, make sure to go to church, do a devotional, listen to music, go see a random friend just because. The list could go on but the point is to do something for yourself that makes you happy. Even if it’s a 5 to 15 minute walk around the building or down the hallway, get away from your surroundings and regroup. It is so necessary to take care of YOU.
